Kruso Internship

During my internship at Kruso, I joined the marketing department of a Nordic digital agency that specializes in scalable tech solutions for both public and private clients. Over the course of 10 weeks — and the following 6 months as a freelancer — I worked across a variety of projects, including content strategy, social media planning, video editing, SEO, and thought leadership.

I was trusted with real responsibility from day one and quickly became an integrated part of the team. From planning large-scale conferences to building SEO-driven articles in four languages, my time at Kruso gave me hands-on experience with how strategy and storytelling meet in a real-world business setting.

Tools & Technologies

Throughout the internship, I worked with a broad stack of tools that supported everything from campaign management to content production. These included HubSpot for lead generation, WordPress and Contentful for publishing, and Figma, Canva, Premiere Pro, and Adobe Suite for visual work. I also used collaboration platforms like Microsoft Teams, Loop, and Slack, and applied ChatGPT for ideation, writing assistance, and translation work.

Internship Journey

  • My first days were focused on onboarding: setting up tools, learning internal systems, and meeting the marketing team. I posted my first LinkedIn update and started writing articles on the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and Direct to Consumer (DTC) — topics closely tied to Kruso’s sustainability and e-commerce work.

  • I began writing and publishing blog posts, translating articles into multiple languages, and learning to work within Kruso’s CMS systems like WordPress and Contentful. Around this time, I also started collaborating more closely with the UX team, providing support with content layout, structure, and consistency across components.

This collaboration gave me direct exposure to user-centered design thinking, and I was often invited to give feedback on design iterations or help test layout flows. One key project here was the setup of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) microsite, where I contributed to both the content structure and the visual UX hierarchy in WordPress.

  • A major part of my work was helping organize Kruso’s presence at the E-commerce Conference 2024. I worked on everything from banner design and moodboards to building the event book, booking tickets, budgeting, and creating a branded wine label. I also created email flows in HubSpot and oversaw parts of the social strategy.

  • I dove deep into SEO-optimizing articles on DPP across industries like fashion, electronics, and construction. I also developed thought leadership posts for Kruso’s CEO and worked on a "Behind the Scenes" video for internal storytelling. These tasks helped sharpen my editorial eye and align brand tone across channels.

  • As the internship wrapped up, I worked on finalizing SEO-friendly content, organizing assets, and setting up a GPT model for generating future LinkedIn content. I also produced and sent a newsletter on web accessibility and Umbraco, strengthening Kruso’s thought leadership positioning. The internship ended with Oktoberfest celebrations and a freelance offer that kept me on the team for another 6 months.

Core Projects

E-commerce Conference 2024

A complete event branding and marketing effort — I helped develop the visual identity, wrote copy, produced promotional materials, managed logistics, and created a branded giveaway experience.

Thought Leadership & CEO Ghostwriting

As part of Kruso’s Thought Leadership initiative, I helped create content in collaboration with our CEO and leadership team. This involved industry research, tone-of-voice alignment, and planning out post sequences across LinkedIn.

Digital Product Passport (DPP) Content Hub

I wrote and translated industry-specific articles on the EU's Digital Product Passport, optimizing them for SEO and building them into Kruso’s multi-language CMS using WordPress and Contentful.

Beyond content, I was involved in structuring the layout and page experience of the DPP site — working alongside the UX team to ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and a smooth user journey. This allowed me to apply both editorial and UI/UX skills in a live product environment.

Reflections & Takeaways

Kruso was more than just an internship — it was a testbed for applying everything I’ve learned in design thinking, content strategy, digital marketing, and cross-functional collaboration. Working alongside UX designers gave me a clearer understanding of how content and interface design interact — and how important it is to balance clarity, consistency, and user empathy.

Whether I was shaping an article's flow, building out a layout in Contentful, or giving feedback on interface elements, I saw how much I enjoy contributing to user experiences that make sense and feel good to use.
